Kecak Dance

"Kecak," a form of dance and music drama,  is the one of the most representative performing arts originating from Bali, Indonesia. Originally a trance ritual in Bali, the dance, performed with a distinguishing style and infectious singing, drips with exoticism and an overpowering sense of drama. Kecak dance, directed and overseen by the celebrated scholar of Balinese performing arts and Kecak choreographer, I Wayan Dibia, will be performed by the students of School of Dance and School of Music Department of Traditional Music, Taipei National University of the Arts. With a setting to reproduce the environment of Bali, Kecak Dance will bring to life the mythical monkey Kingdom in the epic Ramayana.
